Road Construction Projects

The following County Trunk Highway or local road projects are proposed or in progress.

Full Road Closure (E. Main Street within the City of Chilton)

Current Status	The work is set to begin on the utility portion of the project on Monday, August 28, 2023, and is expected to continue for the remainder of the construction season.
Description	City of Chilton and Calumet County Highway Dept. will be reconstructing County Y within the City of Chilton.
Traffic Impacts	Motorists should take caution to avoid this area and use the designated detour route listed below during this project. All access to residential and business properties will be maintained as much as feasible. Detour Route for CTH "Y" from STH 32/57 to E. Breed Street: Northbound traffic will be detoured north on STH 32/57 to Breed Street, east on Breed St.to CTH Y. Southbound traffic will be detoured south on CTH Y to E. Breed St., west on Breed St to STH 32/57, STH 32/57 south to CTH Y.

County Highway X

Full Road Closure from STH 32/57 RR Tracks to the East City Limits

Current Status	The work is set to begin on Monday, June 12, 2023, and is expected to run through October weather dependent.
Description	The City of New Holstein, Alfson Excavating LLC., and Calumet County Highway Department will be participating in the Box Culvert replacement and Road Construction.
Traffic Impacts	Motorists should take caution to avoid this area and use the designated detour route listed below during this project. All access to residential and business properties will be maintained as much as feasible. Detour Route for CTH "X" from STH 32/57 RR Tracks to East City Limits: Eastbound traffic will be detoured south on STH 32/57 to CTH J, CTH J south to CTH HH, CTH HH east to STH 32/57, STH 32/57 to STH 67, STH 67 north to CTH X. Westbound traffic will be detoured south on STH 67 to STH 32/57, STH 32/57 west to CTH HH, CTH HH west to CTH J, CTH J north to STH 32/57, STH 32/57 north to CTH X.

Full Road Closure from Honeymoon Hill Rd to CTH X

Current Status

Paving is complete. Road is open for travel starting 9/1/2023. Shoulder work needs to be completed, so please use caution.

Description

The Highway Department will be pulverizing and paving "CTH T".

Full Road Closure between STH 32/57 and Long Road

Current Status	Paving is complete. Road is open for travel starting 9/1/2023.
Description	The Highway Department will be pulverizing and paving "CTH E".

Timeline	Project starting on Monday, July 31, is expected to finish in mid-August, depending on weather. The WIS 55/US 10 roundabout will be CLOSED from Monday, July 31 through Friday, August 11, 2023 for work within the roundabout.
Description	This is a resurfacing-level project that includes milling and resurfacing along WIS 55 in the project work zone. Work in the roundabout located at WIS 55 and US 10 includes spot curb and gutter replacement, inlet repair, and resurfacing. Crews must close the roundabout to conduct the improvements within the roundabout.
Traffic Impacts	WIS 55 and US 10 will be closed to traffic for 12 days to complete the work in the roundabout. The closure begins July 31 and ends August 11. The roadway will remain open with flagging operations and shoulder closures for all remaining construction. *Detours:* US 10 Detour: Motorists will be directed to use County N, and County KK and County D WIS 55 Detour: Motorists will be directed to use County KK, County N and WIS 114

Timeline	Project starting on Monday, July 10, is estimated to take 50 days.
Description	This is a resurfacing-level improvement. Construction includes a mill and overlay of WIS 32, and a deck overlay of the WIS 32 railroad overpass in the project work zone. Other work includes base patching in select locations, culvert and curb ramp replacement, beam guard upgrades, culvert endwall replacement, centerline rumble strips, retrofitting bridge parapet, replacing bridge expansion joints, and pavement markings.
Traffic Impacts	WIS 32 will be closed and detoured for initial bridge work. WIS 32 will be CLOSED AND DETOURED for bridge work. The bridge is expected to be closed five weeks. Following bridge work, all other construction will be completed under flagging operations with the highway open for travel. *Detour:* Motorists will be directed to use County J and County HH while the bridge is closed for construction.
